Awesome News!!!!

Well I am SOOO excited!!!! I have been chosen to be a part of the AMAZING new Design Team at Creative Scrappers ,an awesome sketch site that can be found here.I cannot believe it....my first ever design team. When I received the email on Sunday I didn't even respond to it because I was thinking that maybe it was sent in error, I was going to wait until today's announcement on the blog. But when I got the second email I was jumping up and down!!!
  This morning I did a quick look at the blogs of the other designers and my jaw dropped!!!!What a talented group of ladies!!!Then I started to feel a little(maybe alot) intimidated looking at all the design teams and publications they already are a part of and then there is little old me....green as can be.I stick out like a sore thumb!
  But that's OK!!! I am so honored Kristine choose me from 200 applicants. What an awesome compliment! I am so excited to be working with this talented bunch of ladies...they too had to start with their first design team. I am sure I will learn lots.I look forward to the challenge!!!!

Pure Wonder

Hi everyone...I made this layout for the September Scrap That! Color contest using my September kit , a couple of things from the August Kit and a few things from my stash..There were so many beautiful things included in this kit...can't wait until I can get into the box again!.I did some distressing and handstitching and the beautiful butterflies were from a file given by the lovely Tara Orr and can be found here.I just added some Worn lipstick Stickles(included in kit) and Diamond dust which I also applied to the flowers...love that stuff!

Right now I am bubbling over with excitement and I can't tell anyone why(not until Wednesday).Oh well...it's time to hit the books and I hope you have a WONDERFUL week!

Our Day

Hi everyone....This layout is the hubby and me on our wedding day a long tome ago...way back in1998.I am not very pleased with this because of all the negative space...I love to add details but I didn't have a clue what to add...tried alot of things but nothing looked right so I gave up!

The paper is My Minds's Eye Meadowlark series which was onesided so I painted the back with some metallic white paint.I did some handstitching in the corner.

I used a Martha Stewart Punch and laced it with some white satin ribbon and added a little tolle underneath and along the folds and then added a few pearls and rhinestones.

First Day of School!

Hi everyone...This photo is of my sweet girl,Claudine taken this morning,going to her first day of Grade 6.Where has the time gone!!!

This is also my first official day of school...I am a student again!!It's been 19 years since I graduated high school and I  am now hitting the books again.I am doing a 2 year Business Administraion Human Resource program through distance learning.I am doing 7 courses this semester and spent the day looking at the course content and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed!I guess it takes some getting used to and alot of discipline...just gotta find a routine that allows me to include scrapbooking!On that note,I think I will close the books and head to the scraproom and do a wedding layout before I buckle down with my studies TOMORROW!!!I don't think I am off to a good start...lol. Happy Scrapping!!

Oh yeah...forgot to mention that my "Memories are Forever" layout is going to be featured in Scrapstreet November Issue...so excited!!!!
