Sweet Surprise
Hi everyone...Don't ya just love surprises! I went to My Creative Scapbook yesterday to post my layout in the gallery and stopped to read the comments on my Grade 6 layout and there was a comment there from Romy sending congrats on LOTW. I didn't have a clue what she was talking about so I had to go investigate! Sure enough...Patti choose my layout for LOTW for February 14th. I was so excited and then I felt bad because I had not even said Thank you to all those kind souls. So I then had to write a post to say thank you to My Creative Scrapbook. What an honor!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 145
Good morning to all my fellow bloggers. Feeling a little sad this morning as this is my final sketch for Creative Scrappers. I want to thank Kristine for choosing me to be a part of this awesome team...I loved working with the sketches so much. I will definitely continue to use the awesome sketches at Creative Scrappers.
Here is the sketch created by the very talented Michelle:
I wasn't very pleased with this layout but I do love this photo from my wedding .I think that after studying for 5 days and writing 2 midterms my brain was just to tired to create!
I used Glitz Vintage Love papers and Rub-ons and the Prima bling and Thickers were from previous Scrap That! Kits. I used a small hole punch to create the postage stamp effect ,did some water distressing and a little handsewing. I used a Martha Stewart corner punch around the circle, added a little bling, and did a little stamping and added some paint.
The pocket watch was a Glitz rubon that I applied to transparency and cut out.
The metal embellies were bought at Dollarama. Well that's it for me. Head over to Creative Scrappers and be inspired to create a layout from the sketch for a chance to win a great prize. It's back to the studying for me but I hope you can all scrap on this wonderful Sunday!

Birthday Party and a GOLD Medal
Well the past weekend was quite exciting at our house! It was Claudine's 12th birthday and she invited five of her closest friends. I was in bit of a dilema as to what to do for entertainment...a little too old for games and too young to just entertain themselves. Sooo....I recruited the future generation of crafters!!!! I went to the dollar store and bought unfinished wooden jewellary boxes and dug through the scraproom for paints, flowers, butterflies...all the good stuff.
They really seemed to enjoy it except for the little burns from the glue gun. They gotta learn early that the burns are all part of the crafting game!!!(Exucuse the mess and dirty doors...we are in the process of renovating the kitchen)

Here they are with their finished boxes after lots of screaming and giggling(I think Claudine is asleep....shhhhh)
They then made their own pizzas...some were quite funny looking!
Here she is blowing out the candles
Then, on Saturday , Claudine had a vollyball tournament at her school and they won the gold metal...we were all so proud!
Whenever a team from our town wins a gold metal, there is always a parade with the fire trucks and sirens through the community to celebrate. Great idea...the girls loved it!!
That`s it for now...have to go study for my Human Resources midterm which is tomorrow night. When I get home around 10pm....I am going to scrap...YIPPEEE!!!Then it will be back to the studying again!
Hope you all have a great week!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 143
Hi everyone, it's time once again for another awesome sketch from Creative Scrappers. I only have one more sketch to do before my term will be up at Creative Scrappers(makes me sad). But I have so enjoyed working with the wonderful sketches. It has honestly inspired me to do layouts I would never of created on my own. I have used sketches in the past but when you have no choice on your assingments it really forces you to create outside of your usual style. I have completed sketches that I would never would of picked myself because they were not "my style" and have been very pleased with the end results. Thanks so much Kristine! Ok...here's what I created........
From this awesome sketch.................
The photo is of my sweet girl on her first day of grade 6...can't believe she will be 12 next week. Creative Scrappers February sponser, Just Imagine Crafts was kind enought to send the design team a circle cutter and boy do I appreciate that. Every time I wanted a circle, I was looking in the cupboards, trying to find a plate or bowl to give me the right size circle. So thanks so much Just Imagine crafts...I love my circle cutter.
The papers I used are from K and Company and I bought them at Walmart for just $1.00 for 12 sheets.Gotta love a bargain!
After seeing Bo Bunny's new releases, I fell in love with the puzzle pieces and wanted to make my own.I took some pictures to make a tutorial but I used my old memeory card and I can't upload the photos.I did some misting, painting, stamping, sewing, punching...all that fun stuff. I also made the butterflies after seeing a video by Heide Kelley, she used glimmer mist but I used my stamps and ink. I will try to make tutorials for the puzzle pieces and butterflies later this week.
I lifted the idea for the flowers from this stunning layout by Janine Koczwara....her work is so beautiful!
So head over to Creative scrappers
and see what the other design team ladies have created....betcha won't be disappointed!
Thanks so much for looking and have a happy, scrappy Sunday!

Claudine's Room
Hi everyone...just a quick little post here to show you a couple of little projects I have been working on. We recently painted Claudine's room a BRIGHT pink and she warned me before we started that I was not going to "scrapbook" her room...boy does she know her mother well! First I made a banner...
Here's a close up...
Then I "scrapbooked" her lamp shade but it's not quite the look I wanted...may redo it later.
I used fabric from an old wrinkled shirt that I was going to iron but she liked the wrinkled look. And finally I Scrapbooked her fan. The blades looked very boring and I had this nice paper from K and Company....so I just removed the blades and traced unto the paper and glued it with Mod Podge...great stuff!
And another close up...
Anyway...she ended loving her new scrapbooked room! I still have a couple more things to do yet...wil post some pics when it's done.
For some reason, blogger only lets me upload one photo....when I go to upload the second, it won't let me browse. I have to click on edit post and go back into the draft every time I add a photo...a real pain in the butt!!!Does anyone have any suggestions???
Have a great weekend!
