Big Brother....Sketchabilities #50

Hello to all my blogging friends.....
I am a little sad today as this is my last sketch as DT for Sketchabilities. Here is a layout of my older brother and myself when we were little.

And here is Karan's gorgeous Sketch #50 :

I used the beautiful Gabrielle papers from Bo Bunny and did lots of distressing and layering. I made the flowers using a video on Youtube... here is the link. You just cut a circle with scallop scissors and keep cutting towards the center until you have a spiral. You then roll the paper tightly and then let it loose and then glue. I just added stickles to the top.
Here are a few more closeups.....

Thanks so much for looking. Karan is having an awesome giveaway until July 13th, just complete a layout using the sketch and upload it to the blog using Mr. Linky. So head over and see what the DT has created...you won't be disappointed. So good bye to all the great  ladies I have met at Sketchabilities....I will continue to follow your beautiful creations!

Beauty....Once upon a Sketch

Hi Everyone......
I gotta say that I just love the freedom of being able to create whenever I feel like it.....life is good! This is my second layout since Sunday....the other being my last DT sketch for Sketchabilities which will be revealed on the 30th. Here it is:
I made this for the June 15th challenge over at Once Upon a Sketch using this beautiful  sketch:
I used papers from K and Company that I bought at Walmart for $1 sometime last year. I made the outer edge of the circle using 2 Martha Stewart punches and added some black lace between the two layers for contrast.

I made the butterflies and leaves by stamping with Stazon ink onto a sheet of transparency and added a little stickles for some shimmer.

I also did some fussy cutting and made the flowers using the same papers.
 My Journalling reads:
You love to go fishing
and to be the one to catch the biggest fish.
But even with worm "juice" on your forehead
You are Beautiful!
Well that's it for now.....I am going to leave you with a little sneak peek of my June 30th layout for Sketchabilities.

Bunny

Hi everyone,
Just a quick post today to share 3 projects I made using Scrap Cakes Spring in Bloom Collection. I originally purchased it to do a layout of my new niece but instead used it to create this layout of my son.

I made the frame using cardboard that came with a paper pad and added lots of gesso and denim.
I also made this cupcake...this was lots of fun to make!
And...........I made my first card. I can see card making becoming another addiction!
Well school is officially over until September and I plan on heading to the scraproom today before I start cleaning my house tomorrow. Housecleaning has definitely taken the backburner in the last 9 months so it's time for some much needed cleaning! Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Love is..........Sketchabilities #49

Hi everyone......can you believe it is me blogging yet again today! It's time for another awesome reveal of Sketch 49 at Sketchabilities. This was my favorite of the 6 sketches I had to complete during my term...so my style!

And here is the sketch:
Isn't is just gorgeous!!! Around the same time I was working on this sketch, The ever amazing Ingvild Bolme released this stunning layout for the Color Room and I was definitely inspired by her...she is my all time favorite artist. Her unique style and creativity leaves me speechless....can look at her work for hours.Did some sewing, punching, misting, fussy cutting and stamping on this one. I think this layout is a very accurate portrayal of my NEED to keep adding....and adding......and adding. I added until I could add no more....like I said before....serious issues! Here are a few close ups:

That's it for me!I do my last final tomorrow night and then a few girlfriends and myself are heading to the cabin Friday night to relax and officially begin summer. Can't wait because I am looking forward a summer with lots of scrappy time with no assignments, research papers and discussions until September. So head over to Sketchabilities to see the DT take on the sketch, meet the New DT, and create your own take on the sketch for a chance to be Guest Designer. Enjoy the rest of your week!

I Believe in You.......TCR 62

Hi everyone.....can't believe I am back with another post already but I just couldn't pass up this weeks color room palette. This is my second attempt...the first try went to the scrap folder.UPDATE: I definitely have issues with negative space and add to go and add the large orange butterfly to make the layout "feel" right Here is what I created:
I know....I know....serious issues!

Here is the palette
This is my best attempt yet at negative space...I have issues! I stamped the butterflies in the corners using two shades of orange acrylic paint and when then stamped with black Staz on when dry. I stamped the title and used a Tim Holtz mask for the misting . Here are a few closeups

Hope that I can participate more now at TCR now that school will out for me in just 3 more days!!!! I have 2 finals this week and I will have my first year completed......can't wait.
Have a great week!

Twelve

Hi everyone

Finally found the time to create a layout based on a sketch over at Once upon a Sketch which is owned by the lovely and VERY talented Nadia Cannizzo. This site encourages you to journal on your layouts which is something I find very difficult to do so I just don't do it. But I am going to try and change my ways as it adds so much more meaning to your work. Here is what I created:
And here is the sketch
The criteria was that you had to journal about a female. This is what I wrote about my sweet girl:
Claudine, At twelve you are 5' tall and your favorite color is red. You love to draw and play volleyball and your dream is to be an art teacher. You are growing into a sweet, kind and compassionate young lady and I am very proud to call you my daughter. I love you!
I used the beautiful Gabrielle papers and some flowers from I am Roses and made the leaves from a Heartfelt Creations Stamp. I did a little misting, sewing, punching and made my own bling(tutorial here). Here are a few closeups:

I also wanted to share with you this beautiful layout my daughter Claudine created. She is only 12 but her talent amazes me. She made this beautiful layout for her Dad for Fathers Day and the only help I gave her was I told her that turquoise and brown looked really pretty together. Off she went and gathered up loads of stuff in those colors and set to work. She made this in a couple of hours and it would of taken me days. I may be a little biased but she has talent!
Thanks for dropping by and I will be back on the 15th with another beautiful sketch from Sketchabilities Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
