Happy Birthday Card....Your Memories Here

Hi everyone and Happy Friday!!! Posting today to share a Birthday card I made using MME Wild Asparagus collection.  It is a dark, rainy day here so I apologize for the poor pictures. Many of the goodies I used can be found in The Your Memories Here Store. The flower and leaves are from Prima.
The pretty butterfly was a gift from the lovely Heather Hudson . I coated the butterfly in Antique Linen Stickles, I created one of the background papers using a Tattered Angels Stencil and Plum Glimmer Mist and used the same color to dye the seam binding.
So be sure to check out the store for all your scrappy needs and I hope you have a happy, scrappy weekend!
I just received the October kit from Paper Niche, have my schoolwork all done so I plan to scrap all weekend!!!

You're so Sweet.....Your Memories Here

Good Morning..Sharing a layout made with goodies from the Your Memories Here Store. I was inspired to do this layout after seeing this  quilt in a Sears Catalog and the Sketch at Once Upon a Sketch.
The winner of this sketch challenge will be chosen by votes so please head over and vote if you like my layout. The criteria was to use the following sketch and to journal on your photo. I used a rubon from 7 gypsies that says " The greatest things in life aren't things"....how true is that!

It didn't really turn out the way I envisioned it would and was one of those layouts that sapped all my mojo....just glad it's finished. The papers are from some old My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus line. I cut 2" squares using 3 different papers and just glued to a piece of cardstock using Helmar Glue. The Ric rak is made from paper and you can make it using this Martha Stewart Punch
Just punch a strip and then cut along the top
And then cut again
Each strip will give you 2 pieces of ricrak in 2 sizes
I also made the bling using Ranger Dimensional Pearls in expresso...you can find the tutorial here. I did some inking with Distress Inks in Old Paper and added Stickles to the letters. I hand sewed the word "sew" by first writing the word on a piece of paper, laid it where I wanted the word to be and just pierced holes following the script.

I also stamped the photo frame using Tattered Angels Architectural Trim Clear Stamps.
I then pleated some brown satin ribbon, added some Prima lace, butterflies and a few dollops of pink liquid pearls...voila...finally completed after 3 trys of adding and then tearing off and adding again. The beautiful stick pin is from a swap I did with the lovely folks at Flying Unicorn. Be sure to visit the YMH store for all your scrapping supplies and I hope you have a great weekend!
