This Moment....Your Memories Here & White Plus 1

Hi everyone... I am feeling a little sad today as this is my last post as a designer at Your Memories Here. It has been a WONDERFUL six months and Kristina and the other DT ladies are some of the kindest, sweetest souls I have met in this awesome hobby. I am now working 2-3 days a week, along with my full time studies so I am limiting myself in terms of commitments. But I will continue to follow all their blogs and shop at Your Memories Here. I recently found an awesome challenge site called White With 1 and the you had to use lime green and buttons. I like challenges that limit my options because if not, just about everything in the scraproom is on the desk plus I have serious issues with details...cannot stop adding! This is my hubby and me taken on a little vacation. a few years back. I used papers from Pink Paislee and My Minds Eye and most of the embellies came from the Prima Grab Bag(flowersleaves, Chipboard title, resin window, Prima brickwall stamp)

I also used a stamp from Tattered Angels to stamp the post mark in the lower corner. I did the usual sewing and added lots of layers using cardboard, torn paper, cheesecloth and Websters Trim.
Well that's it for me....Be sure to check out Your Memories Here because Kristina is Having an awesome sale on Prima Grab Bags and CHA 2012 Pre-Orders for a limited time so hurry...........

Guest Designer at Donna Salazar Designs!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone....Can't believe I am posting 2 days in a row. My post as Guest Designer over at Donna Salazar Designs went live today!!!!!!!!!Here is the link. I got to work with the beautiful Antiquities papers, Donna's Smooch Sprays, Mixed Media Ink and the awesome Embossing Gloss and Glue Gloss. Just before Christmas, my daughter made a request for an art journal so I started out with this sketch book I bought at Walmart.
I first covered the front and back covers with cardboard and then used Donna's beautiful Antiquities collection. I dyed the seam binding and Prima Lace with Smooch in colors Evergreen and Candle Glow and did some fussy cutting from the papers. and then embellished like crazy. I added lots of Prima Goodies and then inked everything with Mixed Media Ink in Jasmine to give it a worn look...love that stuff. Here are the different views:
The tag was a little message to my daughter and the quotes were cut from the Crafty Chronicle. I am pleased to say Claudine loved her art journal!
I also altered a wooden box I bought at the Dollar store and this is the end result:

I made the brown flowers from the papers. The butterfly was lightly painted in gesso and I then smooched it with Candle glow. Using Donna's  Glue Gloss, I applied glue to the edges of the butterfly and used Fairy Dust Glitter in Pralines and Cream. Speaking of Fairy Dust, I also applied it to these two Christmas Centerpieces I made and the shimmer in real life is just BEAUTIFUL!!

Thanks so much for having me Donna...it has definitely been an honor! I will be back on Friday with my last post for Your Memories Here who BTW are having a DT call. Be sure to check it out because Kristina is the sweetest!

Dreams...CSI File #2

Hi everyone....hope you all had a great weekend! Here is my layout for CSI File #2.....I LOVE this photo of my sweet girl sleeping...she looks so peaceful.Boy did I struggle with this. I worked at it off and on all week and in the end just gave up. Not exactly sure what I was aiming for but this wasn't it...oh well. Here is the palette and evidence:

The papers are from Echo park(yellow) and I used an old K & Company collection(Que Sera Sera) and Prima packaging for my photo mat. I did my usual sewing, distressing, punching and the usual overdose of embellies....I just can't stop adding. For my evidence, I used flowers, architectural element(Prima Resin Window) and I did a few swirls with the blue beads.

For the testimony, I used the word "Dreams" which is printed onto my photo.
That's it for me...hope to get to work on File No. 3 this week...it is so pretty. Hop on over to CSI and check it out!  I will be back again tomorrow because my Guest Designer reveal over at Donna Salazar  Designs goes live tomorrow!! Yay!

Snow Princess....YMH and SOUS

Hi everyone....Sharing a layout today made with goodies you can find at the Your Memories Here Store and using Nanne's beautiful sketch over at SOUS Challenge . Here is Nanne's sketch:
I used some Prima flowers, lace, Resin bird house and nest and the Tattered Angels Architectural Stamps. The kraft paper is from Tim Holtz's resist papers.

I was lucky to find a Martha Stewart Snowflake punch at Walmart for $3. I punched  out the snowflakes and then layered some of them back with pop dots and covered with diamond dust to give them a frosty look.
And just a few more close-ups

I made the bling leaves and the paper flowers.
That's it for me so be sure to check the YMH store and have an AWESOME weekend!

Almost 13....Your Memories Here and CSI!

Hi everyone.... I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!During my Christmas break, I created 3 layouts and 2 altered projects that I will share later. I was beginning to get worried about my mojo because I had no motivation to scrap. I was still blog hopping and looking at all your beautiful creations but felt like I didn't know how to put anything together I would glue down a few things and would have to just leave it because I was hating what I was making. However I kept at it and now I want to scrap everyday! I have found that if you go awhile before doing a layout , it is so hard to kick start the creativity again. I guess you just have to keep the juices flowing! Ok...enough about that.

Today I am going to share a layout I made using some goodies from the YMH store. I was inspired by the new challenge site, CSI. You should check it out! They give you a beautiful palette and a list of things you can choose from that you have to incorporate into your layout.I manage to sneak them all in except for the tea cup accent. Journalling is also a criteria which is a good thing because I seldom to it. It also made me dig through my stash and use things I have had forever but never used like the K & Co. swirl diecuts and the background My Minds Eye paper(can't remember the name)

This is my sweet girl who will turn 13 on February 18th...soon to be a teenager...yikes.I took this picture New years Eve with my new Canon Rebel that Santa brought me....yay!  This was alot of fun to create...think it may be my new favorite layout. I did some distressing, sewing, stamping, misting, punching and fussy cutting. I used lots of Prima flowers and some Prima pom pom trim and Glimmermist in Green Clover and Donna Salazer Smooch Spray in Candleglow.

I also used Distress Ink in Old Paper on my journalling strips.
 Journalling reads:
1. You are blossoming into a beautiful young lady right before our eyes.
2.Favorite color is red
3. You love to play vollyball and go skidooing.
4.You love your new iPhone and can't put it down.
5.You are kind, sweet and considerate.
6.We are proud to call you our Daughter.
I did some stamping with acrylic paint and the Prima Brick wall stamp in random spots for my background.

Well that's it for me...be sure to check out the YMH store and have a wonderful weekend!
