I made this layout of my sweet girl using the April Prima BAP Sketch.
 Here are a few closeups:

My next layout is of my son and myself at his High School Graduation in 2009 and the end result is nothing like what I intended it to be.
I made the little red rose and red tile from the polymer clay included in the kit. I followed Gabi's awesome tutorial for the tile and I painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.Stay tuned for some amazing tutorials on how to use this creative medium.
I also made this Birthday Card for a friend
For my last project, I attached some of the flowers from the kit and some from my stash to hair pins and attached them to a card that I made from Prima Papers in the kit.
I have one other layout that I will be sharing a little later.

My special word is "Club".

Guest Designer at ScrappeHuset and a Flower Tutorial

Hi everyone...Before Christmas, I was contacted by the lovely Linn from the awesome challenge blog ScrappeHuset to be a guest designer....I was tickled pink!.However, due to my busy schedule at the time, I had to decline. I was so disappointed because I had never been asked to guest design before. But being the sweet lady she is, Linn contacted me again and fortunately this time, I could accept. So my post is live today....very excited!Be sure to check out this blog because the talent of the DT is mind blowing!
So here is my layout and a little flower tutorial....

I made this layout of my sweet girl using Glitz Beautiful Dreamer collection and a Prima vine. I did my usual sewing and distressing but also got a little bit messy with this one.
I used a Tattered Angels Butterfly Mask and spread a generous layer of gesso over top. I then lifted the mask off , turned it over and placed the messy side down on the paper to get the second faint butterfly image.I dried the gesso using a heat gun and then sprayed with three colors of Glimmermist.
I punched the butterflies, added some glossy accents and then added micro beads and Donna Salazar Fairy Dust glitter...love that stuff!
I handcut the little hearts and accented with strips punched from an old book page.I added bits of cheesecloth here and there and a sheer bow for that extra little bit of softness to my layout.
I am now going to share a little tutorial on how I made the large flower on my layout. I have seen so many lovely flower tutorial using Sizzix dies but I do not own a die cutting machine...just a few punches. So I want to share how I improvised and came up with this flower:
This is what you will need:
1. Any 5 petal flower punch. Mine are the extra large and medium
2. Decorative scissors
3.Ink
3. Skewer or paint brush
4. Stylus or Sharpie marker to round your flowers
5. Glue(not shown). I used a glue gun cause I hate waiting for  to dry.
These items are optional but can be used to add a little sparkle to your flower.
Step1: Punch out 3 large and 5 medium flowers. You can use the same paper for all or mix it up for a bit of contrast like I did.
Step 2: Use your decorative scissors to cut just along the edge of the smaller flowers and for the larger flower cut three different sizes. each one just a little smaller than the previous. Then ink along the edges.
Step 3:
Pinch one of the smaller flowers together until it looks like the first picture. Then take the remaining 4 flowers and roll around the edge of a stylus or marker. When done,it should look similar to this:
Step 4: Glue the flowers together starting with the tightest rolled flower and don't forget to stagger your petals with each layer. The end result should be like this:
Step 5: Roll the edges of the three larger flowers towards the middle so that the three flowers look similar to this:

Step 6: Now stagger the three flowers starting with the smallest on top and then glue the smaller flower on top of the larger petals and add leaves. You can always add Stickles, Glitter or Diamond dust for some extra sparkle.

Here are a few more I have made. You can change the look by folding the petals differently, using different decorative scissors or even adding a bit of cheese cloth between layers...lots of possibilities!
Thanks so much for having me ScrappeHuset...its been a pleasure!

Almost One

Hi everyone...just thought I would post this layout while I am on a little break from studying. I have been working at it in spurts for the last week and figured if I didn't post it I would never stop adding to it.
This is my beautiful great niece and I used Bo Bunny's Country Garden collection...it is so pretty. I  based it on this sketch from Bo Bunny Friday Layout Sketch Challenge.
I did the usual punching, sewing, misting, and smearing of paint so here are a few close-ups.

Thats it for now...enjoy the rest of your week!

Shimmery Butterfly Tutorial

Hi everyone...hope you all enjoyed the Easter Break! Here today to share a very simple tutorial on how I made the butterflies for the April Kit reveal also posted on the Scrap That! blog.
Here is what the finished butterfly will look like. I managed to get a better picture today in the sunlight but it is still much prettier in real life! Here is what you will need:
1.Butterfly Images. I cut mine from Bo Bunny Country Garden Collection
2. Clear Micro beads. I got mine at the Dollar Store but I know Martha Stewart sells them and you can also get them on ebay. I need more!
3. Dimensional adhesive such as Glossy accents or Diamond Glaze
Step one: Cover the butterfly with a thin coat of adhesive so it looks like this

Step 2: Using something to catch the beads(I used a piece of paper) Sprinkle the beads over the butterfly until it is completely covered.
Step 3: Let dry or you may use a heat gun to speed up the process
This is the end result
I love how the color reflects through the beads. You can also just trace with the glue along the edges or on the wings if you want to create a pattern like I did here:
Either way gives beautiful sparkly results and you can also do this on flowers! Give it a try and I bet you will agree that pictures doesn't show how pretty they really are. Have a great week!
